Invitation to learn from one of the best tennis coaches around; weekly Monday night Drills (6 to 8pm) with Coach Cox at UofA Tennis Facility

Coach Robert Cox, former head coach of the UofA Men's Tennis is
offering a 2 hour drill for men 3.0 to 4.0 at the UofA Tennis Facility.  I've attended 3 drills and report these drills have been the best investment (time and $) in my tennis game I have ever made. The cost is just $20 for 2 hrs. The usual class size is 4 to 10 - allowing for plenty of individual attention and instruction.  After 26 seasons as Head Men's tennis coach; Coach Cox knows how to teach good tennis strategy, fundamentals and techniques.  If interested and would like to try a drill - just show up Monday night (rain or shine) at 6pm at the Billingsly Tennis Center on the UofA Campus (1503 West
Nettleship Street). If you have any questions please give me a email/text/call at sgriffins34@aol.com or 479-409-4192.
Thank you.

Dear FAC Tennis Members (posted to FAC Facebook page)

Posted to Fayetteville Athletic Club Facebook on 28 February 2013 and subsequently taken down by Fayetteville Athletic Club.

Dear FAC Tennis Members,

Sorry we have not informed our dear paying fac tennis members but we are too busy to even tape a notice to the Tennis Center doors in an effort to keep you members informed about our efforts to fix the heater and what we are doing about it. We are not customer focused like McDonalds or Chick-fil-A; so don’t expect us apologize for the inconvenience.

1) Heat: The heat in the north bubble will not be fixed this year. We gave up trying to fix the heater. Maybe it will work next year. Since you tennis players have put up with 2+ weeks without heat we thought you could put up with another 4 weeks when the bubble comes down. Please don’t complain – think of playing tennis with coats on as fun.

2) Lights: Also, the lights out over the courts will not be fixed this year. We are trying to make money and the multiple repairs will cost too much. Maybe next year- after the wiring has sat in storage for a year. We hope they will work without needing repair.

3) Internal Leagues: Sorry for not explaining to our dear paying tennis members that we want to make more money by monetizing all six courts during prime time which means your favorite USTA leagues can only play at non-peak times after 8pm and after our pro’s have their pick. You mothers who play USTA league tennis – please don’t complain; you can tuck your kids into bed at 9:30pm or 10pm when you get home. Also, since we do know you members so well, we’ve devised an internal FAC Tennis League at the exact time of your popular USTA leagues are going on, knowing you can play both and pay for both. You have the money – come on – please play in our internal FAC Tennis leagues. We need the money!!!

4) FAC Tournaments: You will be pleased to hear – in spite of our need to make money, we will still host the usual FAC Tennis Tournaments held in the summer and fall. But, since we lose money (our pro’s don’t make money when all the Saturday and Sunday courts are taken by a tournament) the only hours we will release courts for tournament play will be during our pro’s off peak hours which are after 8pm and Sunday morning.
